Registrations

 

The Registrar's office is one of 26 district registration offices in Northern Ireland whose primary function is to register births, deaths, marriages and civil partnerships.
 
The officers within this section are also responsible for:
 
  • Issuing Birth Certificates
     
  • Issuing Infant Registration Cards
 
  • Issuing a GRO 21 which permits the burial or cremation to take place,
     
  • Issuing a form 36 for production to the Social Security Offices regarding benefits;
     
  • Administration of public cemetries (cemetery charges)
 

Marriages / Civil Partnership Registrations

  • Issuing authorities for impending marriages/civil partnership registrations
     
  • Performing civil marriages/civil partnership registrations.  Please telephone (028) 7034 7020 for relevant fees for Marriages/civil partnerships in the District of Coleraine.
     
  • Providing advice and general information about registrations.
 
 
Our services are overseen by the General Register Office (GRO), who hold the majority of registration information for Northern Ireland.
