Causeway Museum Service is developing and providing museum services within the four local authorities of Coleraine, Ballymoney, Moyle and Limavady.
In Coleraine the Causeway Museum Service provides temporary exhibitions in Coleraine Town Hall. For further details of our schedules please contact Leisure Services. Coleraine Borough Council has plans to build a new regional museum within the Market Yard.
The registered collection for Coleraine is held in Cloonavin and includes items relating to the 17th C plantation settlement, 1859 Revival Bible, 19th & 20th C Gribben family's linen activities in the Town, Neolithic pottery and flints, 20th C material from the Coleraine Picture Palace and the Chronicle as well as many other items relating the towns history. The collection also includes a wide range of photographs and postcards as well as books and watercolours featuring the work of illustrator Hugh Thomson, J.W. Carey and J.H Campbell. The collection continues to be developed through public donation and acquisitions.

The museum's collections cover most aspects of rural and domestic life in the 19th & early 20th centuries. Outside the main building there is a Blacksmith's shop and a large display of horse-drawn agricultural implements and machinery.
Open Thursday & Saturday: June-Sept 2.00pm - 4.00pm. Admission Charge.
