8th Jul 2004: FIREWORKS AND MUSIC SET TO ROCK PORTRUSH Friday 16th July

Summer just would not be summer without fireworks and music in Portrush and this year looks set to be bigger than ever.

Belfast based band, the James Peake Xperience are topping the bill on Friday 16 July at the Recreations Grounds, Portrush with their blend of well known , upbeat music.  There will also be face painting, cuddly walkabout characters and clowns.

Paul Gallagher, Events Officer with Coleraine Borough Council said, “The spectacular display at this year’s NW 200 has raised the bar for fireworks displays across the Province.  In fact our new fireworks provider has promised to ‘ light up Ramore Head’ on the 16th .

“We still firmly believe that this is a family event which is why the entertainment is orientated towards children.  The atmosphere in the town is always superb on fireworks night and I hope that we get an excellent turnout for a great free event.”

Entertainment starts at 8.30pm and the fireworks blast off at 10.30pm.
