If you don’t know your Britney from your Beyonce then Wednesday afternoons are about to take on a whole new meaning. Starting on Wednesday 14 July, the first heat of Coleraine Borough Council’s ‘Junior Stars in Your Eyes’ competition will be on stage at Portstewart Crescent at 2.30pm.

Alternating between Portstewart and Portrush there will be four heats in total culminating in a grand final on Wednesday 11 August when the first and second heat winners will return to battle it out to become overall winner.
Entries are taken on a first come, first served basis up to a maximum number of 15 competitors in two age groups: 4-9 years and 10-15 years. The choice of songs this year includes Girls Aloud’s ‘Jump’, Jamelia’s ‘Superstar’ and ‘Where is the Love from the Black Eyed Peas.
Paul Gallagher, Events Officer with Coleraine Borough Council said, “The level of talent last year surpassed any other I have known. Audiences sitting down to watch the heats were blown away by the confidence of the kids and I know that there is great anticipation of this year’s events.”
Entry forms can be collected from Coleraine Leisure Centre, Tourist Information Centres in Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart, Waterworld, and Coleraine Borough Council offices on Portstewart Road Coleraine. The entry fee is £1.
